A nearby Non Profit Organisation wanted to honour Mandela's memory by donating toys to our creche and exercise mats for Enduduzweni so that our old folk can stretch out and be given massage. Good to be given hands-on treatment to soften up old stiff bones and joints! Members of this Organisation were present at Endlovini when they presented the gifts, along with edible goodies to be shared and enjoyed! THANK YOU and Thank you to Goodness who made this organisation aware of our efforts at Endlovini! Much appreciated!

... so we turned to Errol at the lumberyard down by Obanjeni, the turnoff from the old main road, heading up to the hills. Errol is a retired farmer, speaks fluent Zulu (how I envy that) , is a Rotary member and a great supporter of the Project. He now runs a lumberyard right there at Obanjeni. Mention a challenge or an idea you're working on, Errol usually has an answer! So too, this time. He has slats, sliced off the trunks that are perfect for providing shelter from the sun's hot rays once fastened to the framework over the outdoor seating area. They work perfectly, just as hoped! NOT what we wanted! Our faithful, sturdy Toyota Hiace Bakkie broke down 😩 The bakkie has clocked in 190.000 km, is known to everyone in the wider Endlovini region, picking up and returning our children every day. The clutch packed up and the vehicle wouldn't move an inch! We had to call a tow truck at an expense, order a clutch kit at a great expense, and now it's sitting in the shop waiting to be fully rehabilitated, at yet an expense! 🤑🤑 And while we wait - no children! Since we now have this great tarred road going by, with speeding cars in all directions, no one dares let their little ones walk the pavement-less road! OH DEAR INDEED!! |
